What is the most beneficial method of teaching for students? This question is an essential one in the world of teaching. Every teacher has their own ideal way to teach their students, but is it the best? Probably not, and that is okay. As a community, it is our job as teachers to bounce ideas off one another with a common goal in mind: teaching children in a way that makes education a fruitful experience, one out of which they can get the most benefit. My presentation explores the teaching philosophies pioneered by Maria Montessori and John Dewey and considers some of the pedagogical practices developed by their followers.
