Using Lougheed Center of Applied Learning grant money, I have completed the AIARE I, AIARE II, Rescue and AMGA SPI courses and certification. This training is a crucial step in my path toward a successful career as a guide in the outdoors. The backcountry knowledge, avalanche awareness, rope work, and leadership skills taught by these courses are invaluable to such a career. I’m grateful for the opportunity and look forward to using these skills as I progress toward a career that embraces the beauty and challenges of the natural world and allows me to introduce others to this extraordinary experience in a safe and enjoyable environment.
