For this project, I managed and analyzed four years of data recorded relating to the spread and management of purple loosestrife (Lythrum salicaria), an invasive species. The data (collected since 2017 in the North Country by Dr. Jess Pearson’s interns) was recorded, stored, and managed on ArcGIS Online. Using Microsoft Excel, a table of results allows comparisons between the years of 2019-2023. The data shows that invasions have declined, comparatively, and most other plants found in invasions are also not native. Analysis of water types around purple loosestrife sites showed a need to improve the team’s qualitative data collection. These results will help determine optimal beetle release locations for species management.
