In this project I learned how to integrate leading film music compositional process with notation software to create original compositions. Various videos from Masterclass courses guided in technical pre-planning as inspiration for my compositions. Before composing, ideas for the pre-planning stage include talking to the director(s) about the tone and style of the music they envision for the project, watching the clip of the video, then putting markers in notation software for specific moments of the film you would like to emphasize. After the pre-planning stage, the next step is to brainstorm musical ideas (like a compositional diary), and to explore sample libraries and/or instruments to experiment with tone, style, and/or mood. The last step is to combine all your ideas into a finalized composition that contains the necessary details of your artistic intent.
