Jacob evaluated the Lougheed Center for Applied Learning’s internship and applied learning registration and management processes. Most importantly, he was asked, Should the current program (Handshake) be replaced by other available tools (12Twenty, Symplicity)? Jacob interviewed faculty and professionals who use the LoCAL’s internship process; evaluated career-preparation platforms (Focus2, Clifton Strengths, GoinGlobal, Cap Source); and offered a student’s perspective on the Center’s internship processes. Creating notes, graphs, and charts based on data analytics allowed him to communicate his conclusions to site supervisor Sarah Lister. Jacob recommended staying with Handshake; it satisfies the LoCAL’s needs and is standard in the field.
