Photography I Honors Project (2021)
In my Photography Honors course I was assigned to research a famous photographer and produce my own photographs inspired by the artist. I chose Ansel Adams, who is best known for his iconic landscapes of the American West. Critics and artists alike celebrate Adams’s use of light to create value, and that effect became something very important for me to capture in my images. I am also drawn to the ways extreme light in photographs can shape mood, encouraging viewers to feel a certain way. To this end, my project developed into a collection of images meant to convey loneliness in objects with the use of light.
