MUAI 201 AI In Hip Hop Music (2025)

This project reviews how artists are using AI in music today, especially in hip-hop. Popular artists such as Playboi Carti, Kanye West, and The Weeknd have tapped AI to create songs, write lyrics, and even clone voices. For example, Kanye West used AI to help make his album “Bully,” and The Weeknd used AI voice tools in making the album “Hurry up tomorrow.”. Producers such as Illmind and Ojivolta also use AI-driven prompts and cloners to create song ideas or lyrics. As AI tools become ever more advanced and easier to use, more artists will undoubtedly test them out—but not without facing fan and creative backlash. Some people think AI takes away from the realness of music. This project explores how AI is changing the way music is made, how it is helping artists be creative, and why some people are worried about what it means for the future of music.
